It'a not a airdrop. They start from genesis with a premine. Inflation seems to be like in Monero rather than fixed supply (constantly diminishing).
But if (big if) it worked as promised, we could eventually bring it to Bitcoin.
Thoughts on possible theoretical downsides?

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 70%. (I'm a bot)
During a conversation with Muneeb Ali of Blockstack at Blockstack Summit 2017., BitTorrent inventor Bram Cohen shared some of his thoughts on the current state of the Bitcoin development process.
Cohen's response illustrated a preference for backwards compatible changes, which generally come in the form of soft forks in Bitcoin.
In Cohen's view, the current issues with the development of the Bitcoin protocol are "Pretty easy to identify."
Here, it appeared Cohen was referring to bitcoin miners not updating their software to activate SegWit until many months after it had been included in a version of Bitcoin Core.
In Cohen's view, SegWit was a remarkably good proposal from the contributors to Bitcoin Core.
In Cohen's view, the "Vitriol" that is thrown at many of the contributors to Bitcoin Core is unwarranted because they've been doing normal development and "Getting stuff done." He noted that the source of this criticism for Bitcoin Core contributors seems to come from those developers not wanting to implement bad ideas.

To Fork or Not to Fork

So I read Bram Cohen's Bitcoin's Ironic Crisis and I wanted to see what others thought. This shed some light on the actual issues for me and I have a better founded opinion on the potential increase in the block size. I see the problem of transactions/sec as a potential long term problem that DOES need to be dealt with, however I now think that increasing the block size seems like a band-aid solution at best. However, Unlike Bram, I do see increased transaction fees as an issue because this is Bitcoin's main payment platform differentiator. Anyone have other thoughts they would like to contribute?

PSA: Bram Cohen (creator of bittorrent) is NOT a supporter of Bitcoin and should NOT be trusted as an "authority"

I see Bram Cohen brought up on \r\bitcoin as some kind of important figure in Bitcoin.
He's not. He wasn't involved in the early years, has a long history of viewing it negatively, and in general should not be trusted.
I'm putting this here for new people who don't know any better and might confuse "Bittorrent's creator" with "someone you should listen to about Bitcoin".

However, it appears as though Tron is still interested in Cohen’s works. The Chia project dates back to 2017; Cohen had already left BitTorrent to work on it though he had remained a board member.
